Born in Camden, NJ, the son of the late Irene Jane (Gawrys) and John Joseph Spera, he has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.
John was a kind and gentle soul. He loved all animals. He was a long-time worker at Parx Racing in Bensalem. John was very good with the horses.
John was always polite and respectful. He was well liked and had many friends at the racetrack. He loved staying at Parx and thoroughly enjoyed his independence.
John is survived by his brother, Ronald, his wife, Joan; his niece, Samantha McMillan, her husband, Patrick; his nephew, Michael, and his wife, Candace and their son, William; and his cousins, Walter Stepek, his wife, Mimi and Bernard Welsh, his wife, Nanci.
