

John M. Tate, Sr. John M. Tate, Sr. died on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Saint Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. He was 74. Born in Philadelphia, son of the late John J. and Lydia (Misunas) Tate, he was a long time resident of Bucks County. He was a member of Saint Andrew Parish, Newtown and the Elks Lodge. Mr. Tate achieved his Master of Science Degree from Drexel University. He was an electrical engineer at the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster from 1968 until 1994. Several patents were created in his name. Mr. Tate enjoyed hunting, gardening and boating. He loved cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Beloved husband of 51 years to Joanna D. (Macino), Mr. Tate was the loving father of John M. "Mark" Tate, Jr. (Kathy) of Langhorne, Lisa DeBenedetto (Joseph) of Yardley and Alan E. Tate (Robin) of Quakertown. He was the devoted grandfather of Christopher, Daniel, Derek and Victor John. He will also be sadly missed by his brother-in-law, Albert E. Macino (Patty) and his niece, Debbie Macino of Wilmington, North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
