Margaret E. Armstrong

Margaret E. Armstrong Margaret E. (Vallilee) Armstrong, 86, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Waverly, Pennsylvania, "Betty", as she was known, was an original resident of Levittown. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1942. Predeceased by her husband Aloysius J. Armstrong, Betty worked as an inspector in the aviation industry during World War II. She was the ultimate hostess. For generations, Betty's door was open to all. Betty is survived by her sister Agnes Bernhardt, her son Joseph Armstrong and his wife Marlene, daughter Elizabeth Birch and her husband James, Diana Armstrong, wife of her late son Aloysius Armstrong, and daughter Theresa Armstrong. She was a caring grandmother to Michael and his wife Melissa, Joseph, Brian, Kathryn, Shannon, Christian and Timothy Armstrong, and Mary Agnes (Birch) Decicco and her husband Douglas, James (deceased), Michael and his wife Laura and Elizabeth Birch. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Stevie, Sean, Madison and Owen. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, 8:15 until 9:15 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 5201 Emilie Road, Levittown followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery.
