
Marie McCarthy Mohan Marie McCarthy Mohan died on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne surrounded by her loving family. She was 90. Born and raised in Kingston, PA, she graduated from Kingston High School in 1938. In 1942 she graduated from Misericordia College, Dallas, PA, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Music. She then became a music teacher and supervisor for Kingston School District. Mrs. Mohan also gave private piano lessons. She was an organist for Saint Ignatius Church in Kingston for several years. Mrs. Mohan later moved to Levittown, where she resided for 50 years and began her family. She was a member of Queen of the Universe Parish. Marie continued to enjoy music throughout her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her grandchildren were the delight of her later years. She was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Beloved wife of the late John, Mrs. Mohan is survived by her loving children, Mary Beth Mohan and her husband Samuel Steinmetz and Ann M. van Zelst and husband William, and her devoted grandchildren, Laura Bansemer (Christopher) and Brian van Zelst. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Josephine McCarthy, 2 nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her brother, John McCarthy. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass which will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in her name be made to the American Heart Association, 625 West Ridge Pike, Suite A 100, Conshohocken, PA 19428-3230.
