Mary Louise Detwiler, affectionately known as "Penny," passed away on March 18, 2025. She was a longtime resident of Levittown before spending the last 20 years in Bensalem.
Penny was a graduate of Council Rock High School, Class of 1957. She pursued an education in insurance, earning an Associate’s degree in Claims. She dedicated over 25 years of her career to Selective Insurance before retiring in 2004.

She was known as the neighborhood mom, always offering warmth and kindness to those around her. Her car vanity plate, "Penstr," was a symbol of her identity to many. As a single mother of three, she worked tirelessly, often balancing two to three jobs to provide for her family. After retiring, she found peace in volunteering and enjoying quiet solitude.
