Nancy was born in New York City at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Manhattan. Daughter of the late Charlotte (Carroll) and Joseph E. McKeown, Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Having lived most of her life in Indian Creek in Levittown, Nancy and her family were founding parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church. She lived in Audubon, NJ since 1996.
She sought adventure at home and abroad – from sandy beaches in the Bahamas to snow drifts in Montreal and from the desert southwest to the hills of Ireland. She was a good storyteller who loved a good joke and had an infectious laugh.
An alumnus of the first graduating class of Bishop Conwell High School, she earned degrees at Lower Bucks Community College and Temple University. Nancy was an Occupational Therapist who used her personal experience coping with life-long rheumatoid arthritis to inform her practice at Moss Rehabilitation Center in Philadelphia and St. Mary’s Hospital Home Care in Langhorne, PA.
In 1985, Nancy married her true love, Harry Stone. They were blessed with 35 years of marriage and a loving daughter, Kathleen (Katie) Stone and her fiancé, Aaron Ritchie. Nancy is the devoted grandmother of Quinn, Danny, and Piper. She will be greatly missed by Oscar, her chihuahua-pug mix.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Carol (McKeown) Burke, nephews Patrick and Timothy Burke, and niece, Kelly (Burke) Laflamme, as well as her great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Our friends are the family we choose for ourselves, and Nancy will be deeply missed by hers.
Services and interment will be held privately.
