

Born in Donora, Pennsylvania, Pauline became a longtime resident of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, where she lived from 1966 to 2024. She was the daughter of the late Annie Smetanka and George Frohman. She was the devoted sister of the late Rosella Frohman and the late George Frohman (Audrey).
Pauline was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Dowalo, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. She was a loving and devoted mother to the late Theodore Dowalo II, Theresa Carfagno, and Rachel Weider.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher Davala (Janetta) and Jeffrey Dowalo (Michelle).
She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Michael Carfagno Jr. (Melody), James Carfagno (David Szumski), Nadine Carfagno (Johnny Taylor), Lynne Iaccarino (Peter), Craig Dowalo, Brian Weider, Jason Davala (Marissa), Sarah Dowalo and Jacob Wall, and Jennifer Dowalo.
She was the proud great-grandmother of Megan Ricca (Aaron), Myles Carfagno, Nicole Dowalo, Charlie Iaccarino, Autumn Dowalo, Amelia Davala, and Colton Greenwood, and great-great- grandmother of Lillian and Adrian Ricca.
She is also survived by her niece, Rebecca Decker (Ed), and great-niece and great-nephew, Jodi and Charlie Decker.
Pauline will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, sense of humor, and independent spirit. She possessed a remarkable memory and took great joy in sharing stories of her life and experiences with her family. She was deeply devoted to those she loved, and especially cherished time spent with her family. For the past two years, she made her home with her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Michelle, where she was lovingly cared for and remained surrounded by family.
She was known for her home-cooked meals, particularly her beloved halupki, which became a treasured tradition at family gatherings. Pauline also enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading, and puzzle books. She appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including her daily cup of tea and a sweet treat after her meals.
Her presence brought comfort and unity to her family, and her love, strength, and traditions will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her. In the years to come, she will be remembered in the stories shared, the traditions kept, and the family gatherings where her spirit will always be present.
A private family graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery on April 17, 2026.
