

Richard F. Holcombe Sr. died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Attleboro Nursing Home, Langhorne. He was 83. Born and raised in Trenton, Richard had been a Middletown Township resident since 1968. Until his retirement in 1992, he was a purchasing agent for USX in Fairless Hills for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. Richard was an avid jogger. He participated in many Sesame Place Classics earning several awards.He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Pragheimer); loving father of Richard F. Jr. (Linda) of Belleville, N.J., David F. (Mary Jaye) of Souderton, and Diane Engler (Chuck) of Langhorne; and the devoted stepfather of MaryEllen Megenthaler (Pete) of Newtown, and Deborah Kostaras (Gennaro Tucci) of Mount Laurel, N.J. He also will be sadly missed by 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul Holcombe of North Carolina; and several nephews and nieces including Susan Davidson of Fairless Hills. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Cindy King.Family and friends are invited to call from 10 until the time of his funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown.
