

Robert A. Oswald Robert A. Oswald of Levittown passed away peacefully Monday, September 1, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was 83 years young. Born in Hamilton Township, NJ, Robert enjoyed tennis, fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. The best memories are those he spent laughing with his family on the boat at the Jersey Shore, fishing from the beaches in the Carolinas, and caring for his lawn and gardens. His top concern was always the well-being of family and friends. Robert was retired for the past sixteen years after many years of employment with the Shop-Rite Corporation as a store manager and Food Fair Corporation as a store manager and butcher. Robert was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Mississippi during the Korean War; he received a National Defense Service Medal. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown. Son of the late Stephen and Dorothy Oswald, and preceded in death by his wife Sally M. Oswald, his daughter Susan L. Oswald, and his sister Gertrude Oswald. Robert is survived by two sons; James Oswald and his wife Beverly, of Levittown, PA and Scott Oswald of Haddon Township, NJ. Two grandchildren, David Comer of Levittown, PA; Matthew Oswald of Conway, SC; three great grandchildren, Carter, Chase and Paige Comer of Levittown, PA; a brother, Joseph Oswald of Hamilton Township, NJ; along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, where his funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm. The Rev. Dr. Kari Lee McClellan, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be held Friday, privately, at Ewing Cemetery.
