Robert J. Ryan, Jr.

Robert J. Ryan, Jr. died on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Pennsburg Manor in Pennsburg, PA. He was 60. The son of the late Dolores (Murphy) and Robert J. Ryan, Sr., he was born in Philadelphia and raised in Fairless Hills, PA. He was a 1968 graduate of Pennsbury High School. Robert joined the US Navy after graduation and served from 1968 until 1972. He was assigned to the 6th Fleet and later served with the Naval Reserves. He had been a resident of Rhode Island for 29 years, and ntil his retirement, he was a welder and fabricator with General Dynamics for 26 years. An avid fisherman, Robert enjoyed creating and building his own fishing poles. Robert is the beloved husband of 9 nine years to Elizabeth L. (Bergeron) and the loving father of Christopher (Elizabet) and Tracy Ryan and the step father of Melanie Rainey, Candida Diaz, Rebecca Ingelido and Joshua Boudreau. He will also be sadly missed by his 4 step grandchildren; his brother, James T. (Jacqueline); his sisters, Deborah Regan (Michael); Linda Boston (Harlow); and Kathleen Kozemchak (Jeff); several nieces and nephews and a very special aunt, Bernardine Hayden. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 10:00 until 11:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown PA 19056 where his funeral service will be held at 11:30 am. Interment will be held privately. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the United Service Organizations, at USO of Metropolitan New York, 625 Eighth Avenue, North Wing, Second Floor, New York, NY 10018.
