Born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Richard N. and Muriel (Berger) Fishbough, he was a longtime area resident. He graduated from Neshaminy High School, Class of 1969. He furthered his education at Lafayette College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree, and the University of Michigan, receiving his Master's degree in etymology. He also attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He worked as a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ross volunteered at Silver Lake Nature Center. He was an avid reader, wrote poetry, and enjoyed board games with his friends
Predeceased by his parents; Ross is survived by his brother, Neal Fishbough (Sandra); his sister, Renee Fishbough; and his nephew, Mark Fishbough.
