

Stanley L. Wood, formerly of Levittown, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was 81.Born in Bristol, Stanley was a long time resident of the Twin Oaks section of Levittown before moving to the San Antonio area of Texas 10 years ago.He was a United States Air Force veteran, worked for U.S. Steel for over 30 years until retiring, and also worked as a bus driver with the Neshaminy School District for 20 years.Stanley was a coach with the Middletown Athletic Association Little League for many years in the 1970's.He was a sports fanatic who loved the Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies. He was an avid golfer, all around sportsman, and enjoyed racing his car at the local drag strips.Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Catherine (Sutherland) Wood.He is the loving father of Dawn Wade and Lynne Bowen (Kevin) and the devoted grandfather of Matthew, Amber and Alan.He will also be missed by his nephews, William, Matthew, Benjamin, and many great nieces/nephews.Stanley was preceded in death by his siblings; George, Leora, Earl, Ida as well as his niece Dianne and nephew Garry.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the James J.
