Born in Monongahela, PA to the late Victor and Josephine Delso, Tom was a longtime Fairless Hills resident. He served in the US Army in the Korean War, where he attained the rank of sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal before his honorable discharge.
After the Army, Tom was employed as a Crane Operator for Hackett Engineering Company at US Steel for over 30 years before retiring.
In his spare time, Tom was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, and loved spending time with his family.
Tom was kind-hearted, a dedicated father and husband, and a friend to all. He was a great neighbor with a unique sense of humor, and was always there when needed.
Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Predeceased by his parents, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Nancy (Rose) Delso; his children, Gregory Delso (Theresa), David Delso (Colleen), and Bryan Delso (Debra); His grandchildren, Allison (Robert), Jonah (Callie), Nile (Claire), Danielle, Alexander, Jaclyn, Nicholas, Dominic, Alyssa, Thomas, Gianna, and Maria; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas, Claire, and Samuel.
A visitation for Thomas will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056.
Burial with full military honors will occur on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, Pennsylvania 18940. Please be in line at the main office no later than 9:15 AM.
