Tommie was born in Levittown, to parents, John A. and Elizabeth Mae Spirk. Throughout life, music was his true passion and he went on to establish a fulfilling career as a musician. He was most proud of his original music and enjoyed playing with fellow musicians, many of whom became family over the years. Tommie spent the last 7 years of retirement performing gigs and enjoying the warmth in Florida, before returning home to be with his family.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and was even able to attend a 2022 Phillies World series game. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends watching all things sports. The one thing he loved most was spending time with his daughters whom he referred to as his “girls”, and his grandchildren who were the true light and loves of his life. He cherished being called Pop Pop.
Tommie was a one-of-kind free spirit who loved entertaining people with his fun and energetic stage presence. Anyone who met him on or off stage made him feel loved which was something he cherished deeply. He often spoke of how he truly felt the music community was his extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his Godmother, Regina Fogarty. Thomas is survived by his girls Jennifer Erickson and Tanya Spirk (Debbie - former wife and mother of his children); his grandbabies: Haylee McClure, Grant Erickson, and Landon Wehr; his brothers: Jack, Bob (Terri), and Paul; he is also survived by an aunt and uncle, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and all of his friends from the music community.
