Vincent E. Purcell

Vincent E. Purcell of Morrisville died on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Lower Bucks Hospital. He was 84. Born in Jonestown, PA, Mr. Purcell moved to Morrisville from Minersville in 1962. He worked for U.S. Steel's Fairless Works for 33 years until retiring in 1987. He was a very simple man who was an avid hunter and sportsman and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. Mr. Purcell was the beloved husband of Sarah R. Purcell for 65 years. He was the loving father of Vincent R. Purcell (Roseanne) and Barbara A. Tracey (Jack). He was the devoted grandfather of Rebecca Purcell, Krista Tracey, Monica Tracey and Maricsa Weeden (Kevin) and the great grandfather of Mackenzie and Teagan. He is survived by his brother George Purcell (Doris); his brother-in-law John Doyle; sister-in-law Shirley Stewart and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Catherine Purcell; sisters Alice Close (Joseph) and Margaret Doyle; and sisters-in-law Mary Andrews (Bruno) and Catherine Rodski (Bolish). Family and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow at Rosedale Memorial Park.
