

William C. Allred Sr. William C. Allred Sr. of Bensalem died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He was 80. Born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and raised in Newport News, VA, Bill has been a resident of Bensalem for the past 34 years. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 35 years until retiring. After retiring he worked at Macy's for ten years as an opening guard and was presently employed at Shoprite in Bensalem. Bill was active with the Bensalem Volunteer Police and the Historical Society of Bensalem. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved traveling around the world with his wife, Helen. Bill was the beloved husband of Helen D. (Risich) Allred for 34 years. He was the loving father of William Clay Allred Jr. of Oakford, Jeanette Pettus (Mark) of Philadelphia and the late Douglas Allred of Oakford . He will also be missed by his stepchildren Helena Lynch (Joseph) of Kemblesville, PA and Brenda Bell of New York; grandchildren Christine and Michelle Lynch; brothers Henry and Agnew Allred; sister Fay Smith and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, January 10 from 6 until 9 p.m. and Saturday, January 11 from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at St. Ephrem Church Bensalem, followed by Rite of Committal at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bensalem Historical Society, P.O. Box 1101, Bensalem, PA 19020.
