

William J. Costello, Sr.William J. Costello, Sr. died peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 87.He was born in New York City in 1929, to Mary Anna and Francis X. Costello.Bill was employed with Conrail until his retirement in 1987.He was an original Levittown resident, a charter member of the Levittown Fire Department #2, and a 50 year member of the former Immaculate Conception Parish. Bill was active in scouting and with the Levittown Little League as an umpire. He coached girl's softball for Immaculate Conception CYO.Bill was a friend of Bill W. for 54 years, and touched many lives.He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Yaeger and his brother, Francis X. Costello.Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia; his daughters, Patricia (Tim Merkel) and Kathleen Sidoti (Peter) ; his 5 sons, William Jr. (Diane), Daniel (Nancy), Timothy (Kim), Michael (Jeanne) Matthew; and his son-in-law, Paul Yaeger (Mary). He will also be sadly missed by his 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow mass on Thursday at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory, in honor of Sister Dolores Burkhardt, are requested to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Development Office, Mount Saint Joseph Convent, 9701 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118.
