Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Petra Colon and Ramon Luis Rodriguez Perez, Mrs. Colon has been a longtime resident of Philadelphia.
She was blessed to be a stay at home mom for 12 years, and then went to work with the Atlantic Express School Bus company as an aide and later with Cardinal Health/PCI in Northeast Philadelphia as a custodian.
Ms. Rodriguez enjoyed doing puzzles and playing Sudoku on her phone. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, watching movies and Novelas.
She loved her family and made many sacrifices seven days a week to provide for all of them.
Ms. Rodriguez is the loving mother of Reverend Manuel Flores and Yeiniely "Jay" Cruz; and the dear sister of Eliezer Rodriguez Colon, Zoraida Rodriguez Colon (Manuel Laviera), Ramon Luis Rodriguez Colon and Iraida Rodriguez Colon.
She will also be sadly missed by her former husband, Otoniel Cruz Gonzalez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and family members both here in the United States and in Puerto Rico.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may call again on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA 19047, where her funeral mass will be celebrated by her son, Reverend Manuel Flores, at 10:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Mrs. Colon's memory be made to Our Lady of Grace Church at the above address.
