Born to Neville and Clara (Clukey) Pike, Brian grew up in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School as part of the Class of 1964. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country, serving in the United States Navy. During the Vietnam era, he served honorably in Europe, carrying with him a quiet sense of pride and dedication that would define the rest of his life.
Following his military service, Brian built a long and respected career at Bath Iron Works, where he contributed to the design and development of some of the Navy’s most advanced ships. He took great pride in his work, knowing it was part of something larger than himself; a reflection of his lifelong commitment to hard work and doing things the right way.
Above all else, Brian was devoted to his family. For 58 years, he shared an enduring love and partnership with his beloved wife, Marie (Lavallee) Pike. Together, they built a life centered on mutual support, laughter, compassion, and unwavering care for those they loved.
Brian was a man whose presence made people feel comfortable and cared for. He possessed an enormous heart and an enduring spirit - endlessly supportive of his growing family, always present when he was needed, always ready with advice, encouragement, or one of his unforgettable stories. He seemed to have an answer for just about everything, and whether he was telling a story around the dinner table or sharing wisdom in quieter moments, he had a way of making people smile and feel at ease.
An avid outdoorsman, Brian found some of his greatest joy in the woods and waters of Maine, surrounded by family and friends. Deer season was never just a date on the calendar; it was a cherished tradition he eagerly anticipated — a time for connection, storytelling, laughter, and creating lasting memories outdoors with the people he loved most.
Brian also carried a deep appreciation for joy and wonder in everyday life. He loved traveling to Walt Disney World with his family and had a unique ability to bring a sense of magic into the lives of others. Whether through humor, kindness, or simple thoughtfulness, he reminded people to appreciate life’s moments, both big and small.
Brian leaves behind a family who adored him and who will continue to carry his love forward: his wife, Marie (Lavallee) Pike of Lewiston; his son, Brian Pike Jr. and wife Karen of Durham; his daughter, Kimberly (Pike) Jalbert and husband Francois Jalbert of Lewiston; his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlynn (Pike) LaFlamme and husband Scott LaFlamme, Zachary Pike and fiancée Bayley Scott, Ashley Pike, and Megan Pike; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Kyra, Zayne, Madeline, and Sawyer. He is also survived by his brother, Randolph Pike and wife Kit of South Portland, and his sister-in-law, Joyce (Sherwood) Pike of Martinsburg West Virginia.
He was predeceased by his parents, Neville and Clara Pike, and by his brother, Gary Pike.
Brian’s legacy is not measured simply by the years he lived, but by the countless lives he touched with kindness, humor, humility, and love. He made the world better through his quiet strength, steady presence, and generous heart. While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
