

Lewiston - Daniel R. Nadeau, 55 of Central Avenue, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Lewiston, December 20, 1957 son of Roger B. and Lucille T. Rivard Nadeau. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1976. He was a chef by trade with more than 33 years in the industry. He began his career in an apprenticeship program at the Balsams Grand Resort in N.,H. while attending school at Berlin Vocational School in the culinary arts program. He worked at the resort for 3 1/2 years. After that he traveled to several states working in various seasonal five-star resorts. He was sous-chef at the New England Inn in Intervale, NH for five years, returning to Maine to be closer to his family. He worked at Rolandeau's Restaurant and was banquet chef at Martindale Country Club. He worked 10 years at the South Portland's Macaroni Grill and Bug-A-Boo Steak House. He loved to golf, watch sports and play cribbage and poker with his friends. He is survived by his mother, Lucille of Lewiston; his sister, Diane Harvey and husband Earle of No. Yarmouth; two brothers, Richard of Durham and Gerald and wife Beth of No.Yarmouth; an uncle Normand Rivard of San Antonio, TX; an aunt Anita Rivard of Lewiston; nieces Lorene and Marie Nadeau and nephews Christopher and Stephen Nadeau.
