

Born in Greene on September 22, 1931 the daughter of the late Elzlor and Dorothy (Mower) Chateauvert.
She attended Lane Grammar School in Greene and then went on to graduate from Lewiston High School Class of 1950.
During high school she was active in the band playing trombone.
On June 17, 1950 she married George R. Farris Sr. who survives her of Greene.
Dell and George owned and operated George R. Farris Construction from 1963 until 2008, Farris Equipment from 1967 until 2008 and Laundromats in Greene and Sabattus. Her hobbies included a love of knitting, music, singing, dancing, camping, gardening, canning, cooking, playing the trombone, accordion and the Omni Harp.
She was a member of the Greene Grange since 1945 and loved to participate in the Grange Variety Shows. Dell was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Civilian Air Defense Command where she was fully accredited member of the Ground Observer Corps and Aircraft Warning Services. On January 1, 1959 she became an Honorary Life Member of the USAF Air Defense Team appointed to her by the Chief of Staff of the U.S Air Force.
Besides her husband George Farris Sr. she is survived by three sons; George Jr. and his wife Gayle, Gerry and his companion Sandra Ames and Darryl and his wife Cathy all of Greene, four sisters; Mary Casper and her husband Richard, Janice Brewer and her companion Bernard Bates, Glenice Bubier and Elaine Knowles, one brother Richard Chateauvert, her grandchildren Andrew, Joline, Shane, Nicholas, Ryan, Dustin and Benjamin Farris, Robert Labbe, great grandchildren, Savannah, Makayla and Sierra and a sister in law Judith Chateauvert.
She was predeceased by two brothers; Carroll and Condrad Chateauvert and by one sister Dorothy Buckley.
