

LEWISTON - Donald F. Miles, 76, a resident of 109 Summer St., Auburn died Friday at Central Maine Medical Center following a lingering illness. He was born in Lewiston, October 31, 1930, the son of Charles and Alice (Shedd) Miles. Mr. Miles attended Auburn schools and was a 1949 graduate of Edward Little High School.Following school, he began his career for the Lewiston Coca Cola Bottling Plant where he rose within the ranks to become Area Manager retiring in 1984 for health reasons after 37 years for Coca Cola. Following his retirement both he and his wife, Myra enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean which he enjoyed very much. Favorite times were also spent at his camp that he and his family built on Pleasant Lake in West Sumner where many fun filled summers were spent with his family and friends. Family gatherings were always a welcome treat for Don and his most enjoyable times. He also loved playing cards on a routine basis as well as attending local bean suppers. Survivors include his wife,the former, Myra Halme whom he married March 11, 1972 of Auburn; two sons, Michael Miles of Westbrook and his partner Coleen O'Connell; Rick Miles and his wife, Betty of Auburn; four daughters, Patricia Doucette and her husband, Richard of Hopkinton, Mass; Janet Miles of Lewiston and her partner Tom Wylie; Kimberley Cantrell and her husband, Jeffrey of Yorba Linda, CA; and Christine Miles of Riverside, CA; two brothers, Dana Miles and wife, June of Portland; Wallace Miles and his wife, Sandy of Saugus, MA; three sisters, Phyllis Bernard of Auburn; Christine Coots of Mechanic Falls, and Nina Mae Stimson and her husband, David of Mechanic Falls; three grandchildren, Joseph Doucette, Roxanne Scagliarini and Kyle Cantrell. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Kenneth Miles and two sons, Robert and Daniel Miles. MILES died in Lewiston, February 16, 2007, Mr. Donald F. Miles age 76 years a resident of Auburn. Funeral services will be held TUESDAY 11:00AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son. Committal prayers to follow in the gathering room of Gracelawn Memorial Park.
