Gail L. Richards

She was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 5, 1934 the daughter of the late Guy and Drucilla (Durant) Jackson and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was educated in Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School Class of 1952.

She married Robert Richards in July of 1952; and he died on December 13, 1972.

She was employed at Central Maine Medical Center as a manager in the Medical Records Department for many years until her retirement in 1999. Following her retirement, she became a caregiver for her mother-in-law Dorothy Richards and also her father until their passing.

Gail was an avid bowler. She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom were the light of her life.

She is survived by four daughters Bobbie Richards and her partner Gil Carrier of Greene, Sue Charron and her husband Dan of Lewiston, Joan Lufkin and her husband Michael of Lewiston and Deb Turcotte and her husband Tim of Auburn; one son Timothy Richards and his wife Anita of Auburn; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren and one on the way due in January.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a brother Kaye Jackson.

Funeral services honoring Gail’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Mars officiating. Committal services will be held later in the spring at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make donations in Gail’s memory to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Foundation 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, Maine 04240 or through their website at androscoggin.org . Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12-2 PM prior to the service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
