

PORTLAND - Gard W. Enman, 61, a resident of 9 Mark St., Lewiston died early Monday morning at Maine Medical Center �after living 7 extra years following a heart transplant in 2001. Gard was born in Brunswick, January 16, 1947, the son of Harlan and Hope Mae (McIver) Enman. He attended Durham Schools, was a 1965 graduate of Lisbon High School, and also attended the University of Maine in Portland. Following his education he joined the United States Army having served in Vietnam from 1966-1967. He married the former, Claudette Parent in 1970, and then began his career in building material sales. At the time of his death, he �was head of sales with Pineland Lumber Company in Lewiston, and had been employed with them for over 25 years. Gard was a member of the American Legion Post #66 of Lisbon, and had also served as state commander. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Kora Temple Shrine, and a member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife, Claudette of Lewiston; one son, Jason Enman of Lewiston; three sisters, Mrs. Earlene Washburn and her husband, Linwood and; Mrs. Donna Russell and her husband, Frederick all of Brunswick; and Mrs. Diane Bernier and her husband, Denis of Bowdoin. Two brothers, John Enman and his wife, Patricia of Lisbon Falls, and Wayne Enman and his wife, Wendy of Durham. �Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. ENMAN died in Portland, May 5, 2008, Mr. Gard W. Enman age 61 years a resident of 9 Mark St., Lewiston. Funeral services will be held THURSDAY 10:00AM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home with Reverend Lionel Chouinard presiding. Burial with military honors to follow at the �new Maine Veterans Cemetery Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
