

Lewiston - Gerard O. Levesque, 69, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday May 19, 2017 at Montello Manor in Lewiston. He was born in Lewiston on April 24, 1948, a son of the late Henri and Jeanne (Groleau) Levesque. He attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1966. He then served his country in the US Army serving in Germany and Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge he attended Radio Electronic Technical School for two years. He worked at Frank Pomerleau in Augusta for 2 years and then went to work at Bath Iron Works for the next 25 years. On August 25, 1973, he married his life-long love Deborah Lynne Worthington and together they raised their three boys, Shawn, Keith and Ryan. He was a member of Holy Family Church, The VFW and The American Legion. He truly enjoyed fishing, camping, music, Karaoke, swimming, scuba diving and dancing. Even after suffering a traumatic brain injury in 2000, Jerry made an incredible recovery and continued to enjoy many of these activities. Often the life of the party and quick with a joke, Jerry will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
Gerard is survived by his ex-wife Deborah (Worthington) Levesque, two sons: Keith Levesque and wife Colette of Greene and Ryan Levesque of Lewiston. Grandchildren: Kayson, Isla and Arya Levesque, a sister, Anita Raymond. Two brothers: John Levesque and wife Gaby, Robert St. Pierre and wife Linda and a sister-in-law Connie Levesque as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Shawn Levesque, a brother, Roland Levesque and a brother-in-law, Robert Raymond. Visitation will by held on Wednesday May 31 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Lewiston. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location directly after the visitation. Committal with Military Honors will be held on Thursday June 15 at 1:00 PM at The Maine Veteran's Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road in Augusta.
