Greg was born on July 25, 1973, in Lewiston, Maine, to John and Maryann Jalbert. From an early age, Greg formed strong bonds with family and friends, building relationships that stayed with him throughout his life. Those who knew Greg remember his stories, his sense of humor, and the way he connected with people in a genuine and lasting way, whether it was over some of his delicious food or a cold beer, the stories and laughs were plentiful.
He was a proud graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1991, where he was active in soccer, hockey, and track and field. His drive and determination carried him on to the University of Hartford, where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. Greg took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way, valuing the people he worked with just as much as the work itself.
On April 28, 2001, Greg married the love of his life, Kimberly Gagnon Jalbert, at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Together they built a life in Auburn rooted in love, partnership, and family. Greg’s greatest joy and proudest achievement was being a father to his two children, Isabelle Christine Jalbert and Isaac Robert Jalbert. Being their dad was the role he cherished most, and his love for them was constant and unwavering.
Outside of work and family, Greg found happiness in a variety of hobbies and simple pleasures. He loved music, enjoying countless concerts with friends and Kimberly. His musical tastes evolved over time—from early hard rock and hair bands to a deep appreciation for the Grateful Dead and Phish. Greg also developed a keen palate for craft beer, brewing many of his own creations over the years and even winning a beer brewing contest. Family time was always his priority. He treasured camping trips and spent countless weekends in hotels with sports families, proudly watching his children compete—whether on the field or on the ice. For Greg, this was what life was all about: being present for his family and seeing his kids accomplishments.
Greg is survived by his devoted wife, Kimberly Gagnon Jalbert; his children, Isabelle and Isaac; his brother, Thomas Jalbert; In-laws, Robert & Constance Gagnon; Brother in-law, Eric Gagnon & wife Colleen; Nieces Monet Jalbert, Lily Gagnon & Hannah Gagnon; extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins; many dear friends; and Bella, his beloved four legged companion.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Bertrand Jalbert and Maryann Kus Jalbert, uncle Roland Jalbert and his godfather, Robert Jalbert.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time. Please continue to share your memories, stories, and special moments of Greg with his children, keeping his spirit alive in the years to come.
