Henri R. Bernier

AUBURN- Henri R. Bernier, 88, of 8 Merton Blvd., Lewiston died Saturday evening January 4, 2014 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin following a short illness. He was born in Lewiston, Maine on September 13, 1925 the son of the late Joseph and Laura (Tanguay) Bernier and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was employed for many years at the Bates Mill until his retirement. Henri was an avid lover of all animals. He was seen and known for riding his bicycle primarily on River Road in Lewiston until his passing. He is survived by one brother Lionel Bernier and his wife Louise of Lewiston; one sister Yvette Labranche of Augusta; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings Jeannette Poulin, Sister Solange Bernier, Raymond Bernier, Antoinette Bertrand, Pauline Bolduc and Maurice Bernier. A Funeral Mass honoring Henri’s life will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Committal services will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
