

Augusta - Mr. James L. Kidder, age 59, of Augusta, passed away Monday evening October 3rd at Maine General Medical Center with family at his side. He was born in Portland June 16, 1952, a son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Wass) Kidder. For a short time some years ago, he resided in both Lewiston and Monmouth, but had spent most of his life in the Kennebec area. On April 4, 1973, Jim married the former Nancy Brown who predeceased him on June 4, 2006. Mr. Kidder was a Military Veteran having served his country in United States Marine Corps. He was self-employed, owning and operating a wood carving business in the Augusta area for many years. Among his favorite enjoyments were quality times with his family and grandchildren, fishing and wood working and carving. He loved the outdoors and nature with all it's beauty and also took great pleasure in creating oil paintings, both in the woods and on the coast at the ocean. He was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. He leaves three daughters Angel Hafford and husband Herb of Leeds, Tammy Sargent and husband Ray of Randolph and Melinda St. Amant and husband Bryan of Lisbon Falls; five grandchildren Nathan, Lawrence, Autumn, Hunter and Trapper; a sister Wanda Wheeler of Old Town; a brother-in-law Russell Brown, also of Old Town and one niece and several nephews. Jim was predeceased by his wife Nancy, his parents Margaret and Leonard and a sister Rosemary Kidder.
