Jeannette Claudette Marquis

GREENE- Jeannette C. Marquis, 87, of Greene, Maine died Friday evening at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, following a brief illness. She was born in Lewiston on April 6th, 1938, the daughter of Willie and Doria (Roy) St. Laurent.

Jeannette attended Lewiston Public Schools. She was a lifelong employee in textile mills as well as in the shoe industry, retiring from Jones and Vining of Lewiston.

Jeannette enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, gardening, and camping, as well as family get togethers. She was a lifetime animal lover and a member of the Acme Social Club and the Past Time Social Club.

She is survived by her four children, Denise Blanchette of Sabattus, Lorraine Acheson of Sabattus, Robert Marquis of Litchfield, Ricky Marquis and his wife Jonalyn of Greene. Her five granddaughters, Amy Blanchette and her significant other Arno Knight of Litchfield, Ashley Marquis and her fiancé Roger Levesque of Turner, Miranda Marquis and significant other Joe Hallett of Sydney, Brittany Marquis and her significant other Brandon Gresham of Pittston, Charlyn Marquis of Lewiston. As well as her great grandson, Brantley Knight of Litchfield, her sister-in-law, Jeannette St. Laurent of Lewiston and her loyal and long-time companions, Dusty and Bear.

Jeannette is predeceased by her parents, Willie and Doria (Roy) St. Laurent, Norman St. Laurent, Jeannie Houdlette and her husband Erwin, and her former husband Magloire Marquis.

Per Jeannette’s request, there will be no public funeral services. A private graveside will be held for immediate family members in the spring.
