

September 16, 1959 – June 26, 2024, Joan Myrand Garant, of Lewiston, Maine passed peacefully with her family by her side. She was 64 years old.
Joan was an extraordinary wife “JoJo Myrand,” mother, grandmother “Mimi,” and sister who loved getting together with family and friends. She was loved by the whole Garant family especially her brothers and sisters-in-law. Many would consider Joan a saint because of her very sweet and patient demeanor. Joan loved God and was a devoted member and volunteer at the First UPC of Lewiston for over 40 years. She left her health in God’s hands, choosing to live life to the fullest. Her passion for life and family fueled her many adventures throughout the states, visiting some multiple times and internationally for her last hurrah. She especially loved her sisters and enjoyed weekly lunches and outings with them. There were many summer days spent sitting around her sister’s pool or by the water on Allen Pond. She was a generous soul always remembering birthdays and milestones by sending a gift, even if it was late. Joan impacted many people locally and internationally, she will be greatly missed by her large family, church family and many friends.
Joan was born on September 16, 1959, in Lewiston, Maine to Mary Ellen (Moore) Myrand and Guy J. Daniel Myrand. Joan attended Lewiston Schools and graduated in 1977.
Joan married Raymond Garant on June 30, 1978. She worked for several years at L.L. Bean, Edward Jones, and lastly as a librarian at Martel Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband and four children, Michael Garant of Lewiston, Melissa (Glenn) Guevarra of Camarillo, CA, Sarah (Joseph) Quezada of Lewiston, and Daniel (Elizabeth) Garant of Minot, twelve grandchildren, Eli and Eva Garant, Lani, Lila, Levi and Lucy Guevarra, Gabriel and Juliana Quezada, Marlee, Micah, Maverick, Marcus Garant.
She leaves behind sisters, Julie (Tom) Atchley, Patrice (Daniel) Gagne, Clare (Scott) Brewer, two brothers, Daniel (Susan) Myrand, William (Laura) Myrand. She had several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, brothers David and Paul Myrand, sister Mary Ellen Fortin, sister-in-law Lucille Myrand.
