

LEWISTON - Keith C. Roberts, MCPO USN Retired, died Wednesday November 3rd after a brief illness. He was born May 29th 1938 in New London Wisconsin, son of Frank Roberts and Hazel (Bessett) Roberts. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 17, and traveled the world. His 30 year Naval career was highlighted by his 1970 deployment in Vietnam aboard the USS America, for which he received the Naval Achievement Award. He then served with the Naval survival school “SERE” at BNAS. Afterward he served VP-11, where he received his second Naval Achievement Award. He retired from service in the Navy in 1988. After his retirement, he worked at the Sun Journal and Gracelawn Memorial Park, and Quality Transportation- TCA. Keith was an active member of Holy Family Church, being a Eucharistic minister and having sat on the parish council. He was a member of the Holy Family Knights of Columbus council 10019, where he served as Grand Knight. He also served as Faithful Navigator of the Peter Conroy 4th degree Assembly.Keith was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was very involved with his family, and loved winning at cards with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Doris (Martel) Roberts of Lewiston, his son Mark Roberts of Kannapolis North Carolina, daughter Kathy (Roberts) Ouellette, her husband John, and their sons Nathan and Jason, and Kevin Roberts of Lewiston, his wife Anissa, and their children Scott, Lestat and Peter. One brother Robert Roberts and his wife Barbara of Winnaconnee Wisconsin, Four sisters, Beverly and her husband Robert Willard of Waupaca Wisconsin, Gloria Knorr of Appleton Wisconsin, Judy and her husband Jay Krake of New London Wisconsin, and Mary and her husband Charles Brennan of Hollywood Florida, three great-grandchildren, several Nieces and Nephews and many, many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, and his much beloved step-father Clyde Barrington. Our thanks to the wonderful nurses and support staff from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their care and assistance during Keith’s final days.
