

LEWISTON- Laurette M. Jalbert, 89, of Lewiston died Tuesday morning June 16, 2015 at D’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side following a long illness. She was born in St. Quinton, New Brunswick Canada on June 10, 1926 the daughter of the late Josephel and Sadie (Rancourt) Jalbert and had been a resident of this community most of her life. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed as a spinner at the Hill Mill until its closing. She then was employed at Bonneau’s Market and retired working at Bates College in 1989. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church. Laurette enjoyed playing bingo, gambling at the casino and traveling to different countries. She is survived by five sisters Irene Champagne, Fernande Vachon, Alice Lufkin and her husband Thomas, Marie Bolduc and Marguerite Larochelle all of Lewiston; three brothers Pierre Jalbert of Lewiston, Laurent Jalbert and his wife Blanche and Claude Jalbert and his wife Venise all of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers Albert, Patrick and Hervey Jalbert; and by two sisters Cecilia Gagnon and Bernadette Audet.
