

Lewiston- Leo R. “Pep” Fournier, 90, of Lewiston passed away at home on Sunday February 4, 2018 with his family by his side. Leo was born in Biddeford on February 22, 1927 the son of the late Walter and Yvonne (Lambert) Fournier. He attended both St. Peter’s and St. Dominic’s school.
Prior to graduating high school Leo enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1944 to 1946. On September 18, 1948 Leo married the love of his life Claire Frechette together they shared 49 years of marriage before her passing in 1997.
Leo had owned and operated Ferns Taxi from 1948 to 1960. While he owned the taxi business he was the “Head Calculator” for Maine Harness Racing, He also was the manager at Sim’s Restaurant for many years and managed Merry Maids.
Leo was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, American Legion and a Life Member of American War Veteran.
He is survived by his children; Raymond and his spouse Judith (Adams) Fournier of Auburn, Jacqueline Dowling of Auburn, Denise Brown of Greene, Suzanne and her spouse Gary Chamberlain of Lewiston, Gerard and his spouse Nadine (Cathcart) Fournier of Bradenton, FL and a daughter in law Denise (Cailler) Fournier, ten grandchildren; Michael, Nancy, Emily and her companion Derek Larrabee, Joshua, Megan and Jeremy Fournier, Brian and his spouse Trisha (Turcotte) Brown, Jody Brown, Todd and his spouse Jessica(Dibiase) Chamberlain and Shawn Chamberlain and his companion Cassandra Bryson, nine great grandchildren; Christopher Fournier, Dexter, Jamison, Fiona and Phoebe Brown, Maxwell, Drew and Olivia Chamberlain and Donovan Legee, a brother Armand Fournier, sister in laws; Mary Caron and Rita Comtois, a special cousin Pauline Fournier and a special niece Diane Desjardins.
Besides his wife Claire Leo is predeceased by; a son Maurice Fournier, a granddaughter Nicole Fournier, three sisters; Rita Desjardins, Lucille Gosselin and Sister Lucille Fournier and two son in laws; James Dowling and David Brown.

FOURNIER- Passed away Feb. 4th. Leo R. age 90 of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Feb. 10th at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church.
