Maria G. Kovacs

Lewiston. – Maria R. Kovacs of Livermore, passed away Saturday March 14, 2015 at Central Maine Medical Center with family by her side after a long battle with caner. Maria was born in Brooklyn New York on July 18,1949 to Eugene and Maria Rilling. She graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2000 with a degree in Fine Arts. Maria was a talented and passionate artist who graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005 were she received her MFA in Tapestry and Fiber Arts, in her words, “My graduate experiences at VCU were one of the highlights of my life”. Maria worked as an Ed Tech at Lewiston High School with special education students. Maria was predeceased by her older brother Eugene Rilling and her parents. Maria is survived by her husband Charles Kovacs, son Nicholas Kovacs and daughters Anna and Eva Kovacs and will be immensely missed. KOVACS passed away in Lewiston, March 14, 2015, Maria G. Kovacs age 65 years a resident of Livermore. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Maria's life will be held THURSDAY 11:00AM March 19th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 155 Hogan Rd., Lewiston.
