

AUBURN - Marie V. Gagnon 89, a resident of 20 Great Falls Plaza died Saturday, June 9th at the Hospice House with family by her side following a short illness. She was born in Vassalboro, September 7, 1922 the daughter of Joseph A. and Victoria (King) Dyer. She was a graduate of Winslow High School, where she was a cheerleader, and star of the junior class play. She married the love of her life, Roland J. Gagnon on June 30, 1950. Marie was a long time resident of Baxter Ave., in Auburn for over 50 years where she was known as the unofficial matriarch of the neighborhood. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Golden Age Club of Sacred Heart Church, the New Auburn Senior Citizens Club and the Red Hat Society. She also loved to play cards and bingo with friends and never refused an invitation to go to lunch. Survivors include a special nephew, Tim Dyer and wife Corrine of Yucca valley California, a special niece Cynthia Morse and Husband, Michael of Eastport; one special grand nephew, Patrick Morse and fiancé Tasya Swisko of Brooklyn, NY ; two special friends, Cynthia Halliday of Lewiston and Torey Murphy of Poland Spring. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Douglas Ouellette; three sisters, Zetta Dyer, Phyllis Fortin, and Leona Cox; two brothers, Infant Teddy Dyer, and Archie Dyer.
