

AUBURN- Marie-Jeanne Bernier, 81, passed away quietly on Tuesday evening July 15, 2008 with her loving family beside her at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn following a prolonged battle with diabetes. She was born in Lewiston in June of 1927, the daughter of Eudore "Jack" Lepage and Mary Alice (Bailey) Lepage. A life long resident of the Lewiston and Auburn area, Marie "Jeanne" graduated from Edward Little High School in 1944. After raising a family, she was employed for 17 years as a MedTech and caregiver at the Marcotte Nursing Home in Lewiston. Marie enjoyed spending free time crocheting and knitting and over the years made many beautiful afghans and sweaters for people she loved. After retirement she enjoyed visiting with family and friends and taking scenic rides throughout the area, especially around Lake Auburn. She always looked forward to coffee with special friends Carol Hodsdon and Norma Shorette. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Alphonse Bernier who died in 1994. Survivors include one son Robert Bernier and his wife Carol of San Diego, California; three daughters Carole Bernier Evans of Sydney and her daughters Meika Qua and her husband Andy of Waterville, Kirsten Evans of Pembroke, MA. and Courtney Evans of Brookline, MA.; Judy Bernier of Lewiston and Susan Bernier Bowie of Greene and her daughter Ariane Bowie of Greene; and two brothers Robert Lepage of London, England and Armand "Lee" Lepage of Cazadero, California. NOTICE Bernier- Died in Auburn Tuesday July 15, 2008. Mrs. Marie-Jeanne age 81 a resident of Auburn. Graveside services honoring Marie-Jeanne's life will be held Friday at 2:30PM at St. Peter's Cemetery with Reverend Jay Turner officiating.
