Born June 11, 1963, in Lewiston, Maine, the third child of Raymond J. Christman and Bernadette L. Christman (Boisvert). Mark was a graduate of Leavitt Area High School in Turner, where he met Patricia (Hinkley), also of Turner. The two were married in 1998. Two years later, they welcomed their son, Eli Joseph Christman.
Mark was an active member of his community. He served for many years on the board of selectmen and various committees in the town of Greene. For over 20 years, Mark drove school bus for MSAD #52, where he first met many of the students and parents who would always remember his friendliness and sense of humor.
From a young age, Mark became interested in horses and went on to raise and show Percherons. Mark would share his passion for horses with those around him and could readily be found around local farms and the horse barns at fairs. His interest in horses and volubility would eventually lead him to thrive as a territory manager with Poulin Grain of Newport, Vermont. Mark travelled throughout parts of New England and New York, speaking with clients about the nutritional needs of their animals. During his time with Poulin Grain, Mark made many friends with his customers, coworkers, and dealers, and would frequently attend their shows, competitions, and races in addition to the frequent invitations to their homes and farms.
Mark had a wide range of personal loves throughout his life. In his younger years, you could’ve found him at the local karaoke competition, and as life progressed, he continued singing, often around the house to a Jonathan Edwards or Garth Brooks song. Later in life, he spent many summer nights camping around New England with his wife Patricia and thoroughly enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing in the company of his friends. His love for animals and the equestrian community was abundant. Mark was at his proudest when judging draft horses and socializing at the agricultural fairs.
Mark is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Bernadette Christman, and his sister, Janet Morse. Mark is survived by his wife, Patricia L. (Hinkley) Christman, and son Eli J.Christman. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Christman and Paul Christman, and his wife, Jana. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Joshua Morse, Zach Morse and wife Yolanda, Erin Maschino and husband George, Will Christman, and Emma Christman.
A sentiment of appreciation is extended to his close family and friends who assisted him later in life, as well as the services of Beacon Hospice. All for allowing him to remain in the comfort of his home for the final months.
A day of Remembrance will be held on June 11, 2026, at Boofy Quimbly Memorial Center in Turner. Gathering will begin at 11:00 AM with light refreshments and words from friends and family beginning at 11:30 AM.
