LEWISTON- Mary E. Prue, 94, of Lewiston died Friday October 23, 2009 at Russell Park Rehabilitation & Living Center. She was born in Lewiston on April 3, 1915 the daughter of Charles and Grace (Cobb) Philbrick. She was married to Francis Prue on June 2, 1969; he died on January 7, 2006. Mary loved working with children from the Chase Home for children in Portsmouth.She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved to read. Growing up, Mary's greatest joy was the Lewiston YWCA, on the corner of Pine St. and Bates St., where she went on trips and learned to embroider. She was proud of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by one son Charles Hayes and his wife Phyllis of Las Vegas, Nevada; 5 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son Dr. Kenneth Hayes.
