

MONMOUTH- Normand H. Guimond, 61, of 132 Ridge Road, Monmouth died Saturday December 1, 2007 at his residence with his family by his side following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Lewiston on November 28, 1946 the son of Harold E. and Beatrice (Gendron) Guimond and had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Maine Country Music Association. He was a lead guitar player and singer for the bands Country Lads and also Country Ridge Rockers, having played in many local clubs. He also enjoyed playing poker, pool, golf and bowling. Normand most of all loved being with his family at family gatherings and his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother Beatrice Guimond of Lewiston; his wife the former Nancy Paul whom he married on December 25, 1989 of Monmouth; three sons Michael Guimond and his wife Melanie of France, Christopher Guimond of Switzerland and Jason Guimond and his wife Amy of Lewiston; one daughter Jessica Guimond of Lewiston; three step-daughters Lynda Young and her husband Nate of Maryland, Bobbie-Jo Grenier and her husband Laurent of Monmouth and Paula Douglas and her husband Wil of Newport, Maine; three brothers Harold Guimond Jr. and his wife Denise of Indiana, Adrian Guimond and his wife Diane of Lewiston and Gerry Guimond and his wife Brenda of Lewiston; four sisters Diane Provencher and her husband Peter of Lisbon, Susan Guimond of Tampa, Fl., Linda Buck and her husband David of Inverness, Fl. and Denise Perry and her husband Keith of Lewiston; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, especially Lisa and Lice for the excellent care they have given to Normand.
