

LEWISTON - Normand R. Morency, 77, of 45 Acadia Avenue, Lewiston, died on Tuesday morning, after a 10 day stay at D?Youville Pavillion. He was born in Lewiston, April 27, 1930, the son of Willie and Honora Ruel Morency. �He attended local schools. �He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran, where he graduated from machinist school. �He worked at Fairchild Semi-conductor, and then at Philips Elmet, retiring in 1992. �He was married to the love of his life, Therese S. Landry of Lewiston on August 22, 1953. �He was a devoted husband, father, ?pepere?, and friend to many. �He enjoyed camping, traveling, motorcycling, as well as spending time with his family.Mr. Morency was an active daily communicant of Holy Cross parish, where he was one of the first Eucharistic Ministers. �He and his wife started the Monday night Rosary Group in 1990. �He was active in the Holy Cross Prayer Group, Marian Movement, Cursillo, Engaged and Marriage Encounter, and the Marie Rivier Retreat.He is survived by his wife and best friend, Terry; a son and his wife, Bob and Barbara Morency, of South Portland; two daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Dan Rioux, of York, and Pauline and Bernie Fortier, of Lewiston; and six grandchildren; Michele (Rioux) Lieske, Chris and Jeff Rioux, Michele, Justin and Daniel Fortier; two sisters, Paquerette Cayer and Dora St.Laurent; and one brother, Lionel Morency. �He was predeceased by a brother Roger Morency, and sisters, Marguerite Morency, Cecile Grenier, �and Doris Berdine. MORENCY died in Lewiston, February 26, 2008, Mr. Normand R. Morency age 77 years a resident of Lewiston.A Mass of Christian Burial honoring his life will be held FRIDAY 11:00AM at Holy Cross Church.
