He was born in Lewiston, Maine on November 3, 1940, to his parents Oscar Sr. and Aldea (Bissonnette) Dargie.
A lifelong hard worker, he began his career as a truck driver for Hillcrest. Later, alongside his wife Laurette, he owned and operated Morin’s Corner Store and Nadeau’s market in Lewiston. After closing the stores, they ventured into a new business, purchasing Jean & Luke’s Body Shop, which he and his son Ronald ran together. Through every chapter of his life, he poured his energy, skill, and dedication into providing for his family.
Beyond his work, he was a man of many passions. He found joy driving his 1963 ½ Ford Galaxie 500XL and riding his Harley. He was a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a hand to family and friends alike.
Above all, he treasured his family. He will be remembered for his generosity, his work ethic, and the love he shared with those close to him.
He is survived by his Children: Carole and her husband Kevin Theriault, Ronald and his wife Diane Dargie, Linda and her husband Joseph Bolduc, and Monique Cote. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Shawna Teitsma, Tylor Albert, and Elizabeth Dargie, along with his great grandchildren: Meredyth Doster, Oliver Teitsma, and Beaux Teitsma.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Laurette, who passed September 28, 2022, and by his son-in-law, Steven Cote, in March of this year.
