

PORT ST. LUCIE FL- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul A. Gravel, age 72, of Port St. Lucie, FL He was formerly of Lewiston, ME. Paul was a remarkable man who breathed his last on Wednesday, 17 May 2023 at Port Ste. Lucie Medical Center succumbing to health complications.
Paul was the son of the late Mathias and Merilda (Paquette) Gravel and was born in Lewiston, Maine on June 21, 1950. Born into a world of both duty and sacrifice, Paul embodied the spirit of a true patriot. He served his country with unwavering dedication, having proudly served as a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. He was the youngest of 8 children, all who have passed (Germaine St. Cyr, Pauline Duplessis, Lorraine Vigue, Cecile Demers, Rita Perreault, Maurice Dion, and Roger Dion). He was united in marriage to his best friend of 43 years, Paulette D. Gravel, prior to her passing on August 13, 2013. Paul is survived by his two children, Anne-Marie (Gravel) Galiastro and Paul B. Gravel; his son-in-law Joseph A. Galiastro; his daughter-in-law Jessica S. Gravel; his four grandchildren Avery Karis and Kendall Grace Gravel, and Dominick Joseph and Gabriella Grace Galiastro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 30 May, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home; 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, ME. Funeral services honoring Paul’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, 31 May, at 11:00 AM at The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul located on 122 Ash Street in Lewiston, ME. Committal services, with Military honors, will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Road, Lewiston, ME.
