Rachael E. Downing

LEWISTON - Rachael E. Downing, 41, a resident of 35 Dill St., Lewiston died peacefully at home Saturday afternoon. She was born in Portland, August 2, 1967, the daughter of Thomas E. and Donna (Webber) Belfi. Rachael grew up in the Oxford Hills area and was a 1985 graduate of Oxford Hills High School. She then moved to California where she started a family and she lived there for 17 years. In 2003, she moved back to Maine to be closer to her roots where she enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, and her dog, "Joey." She also loved spending time with family and friends. The last year of her life was filled with happiness upon meeting her companion, Ed Mears who survives her of Lewiston. Also surviving is one son, Xavier Downing of San Diego, California; one brother, Don Belfiano and wife, Jackie of Otisfield; two sisters, Ann Terrio and husband, Ernest of Lewiston; Helen Tidd and husband, Scott of Nahant, MA; four nephews, Joshua, Scott, Christian, & Connor; one niece, Samantha Belfiano DOWNING died in Lewiston, December 13, 2008, Rachael E.
