She was born in Council Bluffs, IA in 1971 to Al and Pam Conkling and grew up in Badger, IA. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High where she was active in multiple clubs. Robin later attended the University of Iowa and graduated from Iowa Central Community College.
Robin is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Stuart Wooster of Hartford, ME, children; Tyra Schmid (Katie) of Portland, ME; Ethan Wooster (Samantha) of Johnston, IA; granddaughter Anastasia Wooster of Johnston, IA; parents Al and Pam Conkling of Madrid, IA; sister Stacy Conkling of Lenexa, KS; and many loving in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by Sunshine, a child lost during pregnancy, and her beloved grandparents.
She always sought to live her passions each day of her life; serving others, a love of the outdoors and camping, and an innate gift of creating extraordinary meals from scratch with no recipe needed. Robin was highly involved in each of her children's extracurricular activities from Boy Scouts to Marching Band. She cherished being in the brotherhood of firefighters, served as a certified EMT in three states, was on Ski Patrol in Wisconsin, and Nurse at Mukwonago Schools in Wisconsin, Beber Camp in Wisconsin, Camp Wekeela in Maine, and Wolfe’s Neck Center in Maine, where she was thrilled that a baby goat was named in her honor. She had an uncanny ability to bring people together wherever she went. It was truly impossible for her to move on without leaving a deep and abiding impact on others.
She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and openly shared with others about the fears, uncertainties and courage she experienced during treatment. That October she was recognized by the Twin City Thunder hockey team in Maine in a game dedicated to raising funds for families afflicted with cancer, where she was surprised by her two children who flew out to be present. In late 2023 it was discovered the cancer had returned with a vengeance, leading to a renewed and aggressive treatment program.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM at their home. Memorials are suggested for Dean Snell Cancer Foundation in Brunswick, ME, Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport, ME or left to the discretion of the family.
Rest in peace, Robin. Your love of family, the outdoors, cooking, gatherings of family and friends is imprinted on us, as is your enduring faith in God. We will remember you well with Thanksgiving turkey cookies, buckeye candies, and pistachio ice cream on Christmas Eve, your birthday. We will continue to remember you when we hear the song of the frogs, owls, and the loons on the Pond. You are deeply missed and forever loved.
