Therese E. Lajoie

LEWISTON – Therese E. (Cayer) Lajoie, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2016 at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. She was born in Lewiston on July 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Antonio and Clerina (Roux) Cayer. Therese was a devout Catholic, regularly attending Mass at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. She sang in the choir, was a Lay Presider, and a Eucharistic Minister. Therese was a member of the Holy Cross Senior Citizens and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. Therese loved to travel with the senior citizens. She was an avid quilter, and in her down time enjoyed playing cards and experimenting with new recipes. Family was the most important thing to her. Therese is survived by her son, Rt. Rev. Denis (Roger) Lajoie; her daughter, Michelle Lajoie; her sister, Cecile Asselin; two sister-in-law’s, Lucille Terrio and Florence Potvin, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her spouse, Laureat J. Lajoie; her parents, and one sister, Yvette Lajoie. Therese’s family would like to thank the d’Youville staff of 2 west for their care and support.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Fortin/LEWISTON. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11 am at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Therese’s name to Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd.
