LEXINGTON – Anthony G. “Tony” Matthews, 75, passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2016. He was a son of the late William Garland and Magdalene Rawls Matthews. Tony was a graduate of Chuckatuck High School in Virginia and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was retired as a Product Development Manager with the Milliken Company.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Bunch Matthews of Lexington; children, Alison Butler (Daniel) of San Antonio, TX; sons, Gary Matthews and Mark (Lara) Matthews, grandchildren, Callie, Molly and William Matthews all of Lexington, SC; sister, Mary Hall of Richmond, VA; brothers, Elwood Matthews (Martha) of Chambersburg, PA, Michael R. Matthews (Kitty) of Suffolk, VA and Wayne Matthews (Sherrie) of Zyphrhills, FL.
The family would like to thank friends and the staff on the oncology floor at Lexington Medical Center for their love and support. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
