Bertha Martin, age 94, passed away peacefully July 28, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born November 17, 1930 in Buffalo, West Virginia to James Clayton and Ida Mae Stotler. She was married to Charles Linden Martin who preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Danny and Ruby Martin, Connie and Chuck Porter, David and Martha Martin and Sandy and Ronnie Boswell. In addition, she was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren who she dearly loved. She treasured her children and their children and embraced every moment with them.
She loved her role as wife, Mom, Grandma, Nana, Sister, Aunt and friend. She made wonderful friends that she considered family and loved every opportunity to spend time with them. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her heart’s desire was that each of her children and grandchildren would accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and discover God’s will for their own lives. She was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union and Ark Assembly in Galion, Ohio. She loved working in the health care industry, helping many people in Galion, Ohio. She also loved volunteering in a classroom for several years where the children all called her Nana. The past five years she supported church growth in Mombasa in East Africa. She was a great example every morning when she could be found reading her Bible and praying. More than anything, Bertha wanted everyone to love and forgive one another.
Ephesians 4:32 — “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ has forgiven you.”
