CAMDEN – A memorial service for Betty Fallaw Jennings, 85, will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Camden, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020. Associate Pastor Phillip Gerrald will officiate. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Center from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Young at Heart, C/O First Baptist Church Camden.
Betty died peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017 after a seven-year struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born June 17, 1931, in Augusta, GA, she was the daughter of A. Curtis and Ruby F. Fallaw. She attended nursing school prior to becoming a homemaker, and was also employed by the City of Camden as an accounting clerk for 19 years.
Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years, William B. Jennings; her son, W. Bryan Jennings, Jr.; three grandchildren, W. Alex Jennings, Johanna J. Davis and Sarah E. Jennings; and one great-grandson, W. Colt Davis. She is also survived by her sister, Margie F. Colvin. She was predeceased in death by her beloved son, Alan C. Jennings.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
