

With great sadness, Blair’s family announces his sudden passing at the age of 52 on September 4, 2025. The celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, September 17, from 2-4 p.m. at The Root Cellar restaurant in Lexington, S.C., where the family will receive friends.
Blair was born on June 1, 1973, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Camden Military Academy. After graduation, Blair enlisted in the United States Navy serving on the command ship, USS Coronado as a Specialist Second class Petty Officer and 1 of 2 qualified Master Helmsman. He was deployed to the Persian Gulf aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Abraham Lincoln earning the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
After leaving the Navy, Blair returned to Lexington, S.C. Blair loved family, hunting, reading, and cheering all Gamecock sports. His passion for cooking led him to being instrumental in bringing both Uno Chicago Grill and The Root Cellar restaurants to Lexington, S.C.
His love for family and friends made every get together a cherished memory. He lived with boundless enthusiasm that one could not help but join in.
Blair was predeceased by his father, Henry Sims and is survived by his mother, Nonie Sims. He is also survived by his four children: Blair Sims, Grace Sims, Maisy Sims, and Ian Sims; and his stepdaughter, Aubrey Keel (Cody). His surviving siblings include Sara Sims, Sheridan Mann (Arnold), Cindy Conrads, Susan Bates (Al), Henry Sims, Eric Sims, Meg Brooker, and Chip Brooker (Rebecca).
Though his time with us was cut short, his spirit will live on in the memories of love, laughter, and togetherness he created. He will be missed by many but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the charity of one’s choice.
