

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Charles “Charlie” Edward Crumpton, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Red Bank Baptist Church, with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Crumpton was born January 19, 1944 in Columbia, SC and was called home to be with his Lord on Sunday October 6, 2013. He was the son of the late Thomas Crumpton and Cleo Hall Crumpton. Mr. Crumpton was a member of the Men’s Ministry at Red Bank Baptist Church, a big Clemson fan, loved sports, working and coaching youth league baseball and was known as “Papa Charlie”. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his son, Ed Crumpton; daughter, Paula Crumpton Whyte; stepdaughters, Tracey Leaphart (Todd), and Amanda VanHorn; grandsons, Chris and Kennon Whyte, Carsen and Ashley Crumpton; sisters, Donnelle Windham, Linda Cassidy and Lois Crumpton; brothers, Billy Crumpton (Jeanette), Gene Crumpton (Ruth), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased are his parents; wife, Maryann VanHorn Crumpton; brother Jimmy Crumpton and brothers-in-law O.W. Windham and Donnie Cassidy. Honorary Pall Bearers are Jim Clarks Sunday School Class and Men’s Ministry Group.
